THE FARM

The farm runs along the banks of the river Tweed. Over the past few decades parts of the original 360 acres have been sold. The farm is now around 130 acres; mostly grass, including a 10 acres nature reserve (Crags) and a 10 acre island in the middle of the Tweed, plus 10 acres of maize for silage.

The old farm steading dating from c.1850 does not lend itself to modern farming – certainly not to access with modern machinery – and is in need of a face lift. The old granary building – with mill race below – is potentially a beautiful prospect for some sort of development. The adjacent woodland encompassing a half-acre mill pond has been purchased from the neighbouring farm with a view to create something outstanding.
